Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an additional layer of security for your account. While SMS verification is enabled by default on Rain, you can also use more secure alternatives like Authy or Google Authenticator mobile apps for enhanced security.

When is Two-Factor Authentication Required on Rain?

Two-Factor Authentication is mandatory on both Rain mobile application and website for the following operations:

• Account Logins: Every time you log into the Rain mobile application or website
• Crypto Transfers: When sending or transferring any cryptocurrency to another wallet
• Withdrawals: When withdrawing fiat currency from your Rain wallet to your bank account

This security measure ensures that the person performing these operations is actually you, the account owner, and not someone attempting to impersonate you.

Setting Up Google Authenticator

1. Log in to your Rain account
2. Click on your profile in the top right corner and select "Security"
   
   
3. Navigate to the Two-Factor Authentication settings section
4. Click on "Connect Authenticator App"
5. Enter the 2FA code sent to your SMS and click "Apply"
6. Download the Google Authenticator app:
   • Google Authenticator for iOS
   • Google Authenticator for Android
7. Scan the QR code shown on screen with Google Authenticator app

   Note: If you're on mobile, you can copy and paste the provided key instead of scanning the QR code

8. Enter the 6-digit code shown in your Google Authenticator app into Rain's verification screen
9. Once setup is complete, you can now use Google Authenticator codes for all your Rain operations

Setting Up Authy

1. Download the Authy app to your device:
   • Authy for iOS
   • Authy for Android
2. Open Authy and register with the same phone number registered to your Rain account
3. Go to "Security" settings in Rain website or application
4. Click on "Connect Authenticator App"
5. Scan the QR code with your Authy app
6. Enter the 6-digit code shown in Authy into Rain's verification screen
7. After completion, you can use Authy codes for all your Rain operations

Important Security Notes

• Authenticator apps are more secure than SMS verification
• Remember to transfer your 2FA app when changing phones
• Store your backup codes in a secure location
• If using Authy on multiple devices, manage the "Multi-device" feature carefully
