The "private keys" to these wallets are split up (sharded) and stored in multiple safety deposit boxes at banks in different geographical locations. A hacker would need to physically access all safety deposit boxes, at different bank vaults, in different regions, to compromise funds.

98% of Rain's cryptocurrency is stored offline in cold-storage at all times, in a safety deposit box in a bank. What this means is that your funds are not on the internet, ensuring hackers have no way to access it.
