Minimum Ripple (XRP) Balance

Ripple (XRP) imposes a reserve requirement of 20 XRP, which is the minimum amount you must store in your XRP address to prevent the shared global ledger from overgrowing due to spam or malicious use. 20 XRP is used to activate your address and allow sending and receiving operations.

To complete a send transaction at Rain, the receiving XRP address must already have a minimum balance of 20 XRP, or if the receiving address does not already have a minimum balance of 20 XRP, the sent amount must be at least 20 XRP.

If you try to send an amount of less than 20 XRP to an address with a minimum balance of less than 20 XRP and the amount in that wallet is less than 20 XRP, you will be warned that the balance of the receiving address is low.

If you want to complete the shipping process, you can increase the sent amount in XRP or choose a different address with the minimum reserve balance.
